We take defined work into our hands and make it move properly. Sometimes that means taking control of a demanding piece of legal or regulatory work; elsewhere it may mean bringing structure to an administrative burden, strengthening a public-service process or carrying a workstream that has outgrown the time available to it. We do not arrive with a predetermined answer or a catalogue of bodies to place. We understand the instruction, find the pressure points, apply the right expertise and see the work through with the judgment and discipline the surrounding organisation expects of itself.

STANDARDS BY DESIGN
Our standards are not invented afresh for each instruction.
From executive policy and internal procedure through to the work ultimately delivered to a client, Anglia & Charter deliberately benchmarks its approach against recognised professional expectations within the legal sector, including relevant standards and principles published by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the National Association of Licensed Paralegals.
That does not make us an SRA-regulated law firm. It reflects a deliberate choice: where demanding professional standards already exist, we would rather build towards them than work beneath them.
Standards should exist before the pressure arrives.

RESPONSIBILITY HAS A NAME
An instruction should never disappear into a process.
The scope of the work must be understood, responsibility must be identifiable, and issues must be raised rather than quietly passed along. We expect the work entrusted to us to remain traceable from instruction through review and delivery.
Where something falls outside the agreed scope, requires clarification or raises a concern, the answer is not assumption. It is escalation.
The client should always know what is being carried, and who is carrying it.

CONFIDENTIALITY IS NOT CEREMONIAL
Sensitive work cannot be treated casually simply because it has moved outside the client’s walls.
Confidentiality, information handling and professional discretion are therefore treated as working disciplines, not wording reserved for an agreement. Access should be proportionate, information should be handled for the purpose for which it was entrusted, and unnecessary exposure should be avoided.
The standard is straightforward: information entrusted for the work should never become interesting for any other reason.
Discretion is measured most clearly when nobody needs to remind you of it.
